I offer extremely affordable editing and proofreading services, which are detailed below. Please carefully review each description to decide which service would be best for you. I do offer a free sample proofread/edit of the first few pages of your manuscript.
Proofreading Services: My proofreading service includes a review of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. As I am reading, I also will flag awkward sentences and confusing phrasing. The cost for proofreading is $2.00 per 1000 words ($10 minimum). For example, a 30,000 word manuscript would cost $60. For manuscripts exceeding 50,000 words, please ask me about special pricing.
Editing Services: Editing is a two-step process. During the first round, I will carefully read your manuscript, flagging confusing sentences, passive sentences, repetitive words, inconsistencies in the storyline, spelling errors, and grammatical errors. When I send the markups back to you, I will offer other suggestions as necessary which will help you make your story the best it can be. Once you have finished reviewing the edited manuscript and accepting (or rejecting) the suggested changes, you will resubmit it to me for a final proofread. The cost for my editing service is $5.00 per 1000 words ($50 minimum). For example, a 30,000 word manuscipt would cost $150. If your manuscript exceeds 50,000 words, please ask me about discounted pricing.
Payment information: I accept payment via Paypal unless other arrangements are made in advance. I will ask for a deposit of half before I begin working on your manuscript. Full payment is due upon delivery of completed edits. If affordability is an issue and you need to set up a payment plan, do not hesitate to contact me. Money should never be an obstacle to publication. I believe every author deserves to have his or her story told and every book deserves a thorough edit. Other considerations: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word or Google Docs (unless other arrangements are made in advance). Because it is your manuscript, I will not make any changes to your work. Instead, I will utilize the "Comment" feature to suggest changes. It is up to you to accept or reject any changes I suggest.
How Long Will It Take? I generally quote 3 to 5 business days per 10,000 words. If I have a heavy workload, I will let you know in advance before taking on your project. If you have an extremely tight deadline, please let me know and I'll do whatever I can to help you.
Contact me: For more information about my editing services, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
